On this episode Ronal and MTBtrigger talk about their strategy for planning out which map they are going to attack, which quests to tackle, and how their planning has evolved.
Interestingly, MTB has changed his strategy entirely after talking about his ‘notepad’ strategy last week.
Both Ronal and MTB remain focused on hideout progression, but had a number of raids together during the second week of the wipe and they break down a few of the PVP encounters.

On this episode MTBtrigger and Ronal talk about some of the ‘early shows’ and how it is, now, a little bit painful to look back on them.
After a brief cringe and nostalgic look-back session, the pair move on to discuss a recent Shoreline raid that left MTB watching Ronal finish a very successful task heavy raid, while pondering his own poor decision making (in his words) about the PVP encounter.
Following the raid discussion they move into their favorite tips - not ‘top 10 keybind tips’ but overall tips for the early, mid, and late game of Tarkov with a focus on items ‘I wish I knew’ and overall strategy for those seasons in the game.

WOW!
The entire Tarkov community was surprised by the wipe announcement today! On 12/23/2020 BSG released, via forum post, that on 12/24/2020 the 12.9 patch will be deployed and there will be a wipe with the patch.
MTBtrigger and Ronal go over the patch and give their thoughts about which parts of the patch will cause the most change to the game, what they’re excited to do in the (very short) pre-wipe event, and what their plan is to start the new wipe tomorrow!

On this episode, MTBtrigger and Ronal start with a typical ‘how was your week in tarkov’ session that ultimately led to a complete 180 and deep dive into one of Ronal’s raids.
Why?
Ronal went inside the Shoreline Resort. Yes. Inside. MTB asked to make sure he heard correctly!
Jokes aside, the hosts explored Ronal’s approach to learning a new section of a map that he largely has mastered. The unique part is the resort plays differently than the entire rest of the map so they dissected the strategy ahead of time, how it went, and what Ronal is still working on inside the resort.
Also discussed is what gear and utility Ronal took with him on the raids and why he chose those particular load outs.
After the resort discussion, the hosts revisited a topic that DottyHack brought up on the previous episode - Loot availability and loot scarcity and how delicate the balance is for ‘good game design’ between different play times and playstyles.
Would truly dynamic loot work well? What about treasure class, as seen in the Diablo franchise?

In this episode they jump straight into Tarkov - What is the state of Tarkov?
The crew talks about Late Spawns and how much the new fix to that problem has changed load times as well as the effect it had on Pestily’s Punisher Challenge.
Dotty talks about why he loves metal music and the large Tarkov maps - Customs, Interchange, etc.
The bulk of the discussion centers around Dynamic Loot, Loot Availability, and Loot Scarcity. While the flea market played a role in this discussion it was largely focused on how it would affect the ‘power struggle’ between veteran players and new as well as high play time versus low play time.

On this episode MTBtrigger and Ronal talk about one of the most successful nights of Tarkov that they have had while playing duos together. Shoreline and, surprisingly, Woods were both very good to them with regards to kills and loot.
After talking about their weeks in Tarkov, MTB talks about trying to qualify for Pestily’s Punisher tournament (to qualify you have to kill as many PMCs in one hour on Factory as possible).
MTB was able to get 23 kills, without a ton of preparing, on a goal of 30 so he and Ronal talk through what went well, what to change, and how to get that number closer to 30.
Included is a conversation about what gear, guns, ammo, and utility MTB was taking into each raid. This led to a fascinating discussion about long barrel vs. short barrel and a few scenarios, both long and short range, that MTB ran into during his hour-long trial.

On this episode MTBTrigger and Ronal go in-depth on the raids from the prior week and then jump back into Woods.
Notably, MTB completed his ‘The Guide’ task that he was one raid away from completing on the previous episode. The final raid, on Interchange, was not a walk in the park, though.
Railway spawn was his least desirable choice for surviving on Interchange. When he, and Jmac, spawned there it created a challenging decision: which direction were they going to head to get to Emercom Exfil? Ultimately, they went to the power plant first and fought with a 2-man team, but ultimately had to disengage and go back through the parking lot.
At the end of the parking area they encountered a sniper in the OLI tower which caused them to make another challenging decision: Do they engage? Or do they sneak around?
After this, Ronal talks about his success learning new routes on Shoreline and MTB relates this to his last few days of trying to figure out how to be successful on Woods by using a similar strategy for learning routes.

On this episode MTBtrigger and Ronal head into Woods.
The episode kicks off with a Ronal raid story and a 1 vs. 3 pvp encounter followed by an analysis of what went well and what didn’t go so well.
One of the most interesting things about this conversation was the mention of mouse sensitivity. The hosts dig into this and talk about how easy it is to ‘set it and forget it’ but Ronal has been experimenting with lower sensitivity with some very good results.
MTB, at the time of the podcast, is experiencing the worst ‘unable to play’ moment in his Tarkov career because earlier in the day he completed all of the maps except for Interchange on the first attempt for the task ‘the guide’.
This leads to the conversation about Woods. Why is it so hard at the end of a wipe? What tactics will work on Woods? Are there open-area tactics that are useful on other maps that can be transferred to Woods?
